Queering Christ Cyanotypes
This project, completed in 2023, combines concrete experimental photography processes with thematic mysticism. These pieces, crafted to purposely degrade or change over time in medium, seek to visualize the impermanent truths associated with the feminine, mystical Christian doctrine that have been lost to time with the help of male chroniclers and the dogmatic Petrian Catholic Church.

These photos move between misogynistic tales like the original sin of Eve and possible queered/gendered visualizations of stories like The Last Supper and Christ's side wound. Drawing upon high-contrast visual recounts by Caravaggio of these stories as well as early-aughts fashion photography, this project draws upon a millennium of context, raising a point that women could in fact be and have been at the center of these stories
